Troubleshoot your Meta integration

Setting up the ResDiary integration with Facebook and Instagram can sometimes be tricky. This article provides a comprehensive guide to help you navigate common issues and ensure a smooth connection process.

⚠️ Warning: Before moving forward ensure you have prepared your users for the Meta integration.

Fix the grey option on your diary settings

Your ResDiary user must have access to begin with the integration, or it will appear greyed out, follow the steps below to enable Facebook integration on your ResDiary user permissions:

  1. Click Settings, then User Management.

  2. Click Users.

  3. Find your user and click Setup.

  4. Click Menu Items.

  5. Enable Facebook integration.

  6. Click Save.


Request admin permission from the business manager

If you encounter an error stating that you need to request permission from the admin to continue, it means that your user account is likely set up as an employee in the Meta business manager account, rather than as an admin, which is required. Please speak to the owner to update your access.


Sort your not elegible error

If you see a not elegible error, it means your user doesn't have admin rights to your Facebook or Instagram page.


Unable to access the specified venue

Your Facebook or Instagram page of the diary you have selected, is not listed as an asset belonging to the Meta business account you are using. Follow the steps below to claim the correct page:

  1. From Meta, click Meta Business Suite.

  2. Click Business Assets.

  3. Click Pages.

  4. Click Add Assets.


Check your Meta business account admin rights

Follow the steps below to check if your user has admin rights on your Meta business account:

  1. Click Meta Business Suite.

  2. Click the business account Settings icon.

  3. Click People.

  4. Select your business admin user, speak to your manager if you see employee.

  5. Check if you have full control permissions.
