Track booking conversions from ResDiary

You can easily track your booking conversions directly from your microsite.

Track Google analytics conversions from your microsite by adding your Google analytics tracking ID in the widget tracking settings. This automatically fires Google analytics on your microsite. Set up your goals in Google analytics to start measuring bookings and view results in your reports.

Add Google analytics to your diary

Follow the steps below to add your Google analytics ID to ResDiary:

  1. From your diary, click Settings.

  2. Click Widget Tracking.

  3. From the menu select analytics.

  4. Paste your Google analytics tracking ID.

  5. Click Update.

πŸ“Œ Note: If you already have a GTM code specified here, add your Google analytics tracking ID to Google tag manager and Google analytics will be fired through it.


Create your conversion goal

Follow the steps below to create your Google Analytics goal:

  1. Go to your Google analytics account.

  2. Select the account and view your tracking.

  3. Click Admin panel.

  4. Click Goal Menu Item.

  5. Click New Goal.

  6. Select Custom, then click Continue.

  7. Give it a name and select the destination as type.

  8. From goal details, set destination to regular expression.

  9. Add Confirmation to the text field and enable case sensitive.

  10. Enable Funnel.

  11. Add the following fields:

    1. Set Restaurant as name and /Restaurant/ as page.

    2. Set Booking Screen as name and /Book/ as page.

    3. Turn on the required toggle.

  12. Click Save.


Check your results

Follow the steps below to check the results of your conversion goal:

  1. Go to your Google analytics property.

  2. Click Acquisition, then All Traffic.

  3. Click Channels.

  4. Select your booking goal from the conversion menu.

πŸ“Œ Note: It might take a couple of days to start tracking your data correctly.
