Adjust your event enquiry settings

You can easily manage your event enquiry settings.

ResDiary’s event manager helps venues manage event enquiries more efficiently, whether submitted online or created internally. With this guide you can define accepted party sizes, specify event types, add cancellation reasons and enable your areas to accept enquiries.

⚠️ Warning: Ensure you have signed up for the event manager add-on before moving forward. Once it has been added to your subscription it appears on the top left of your diary on the event enquiry icon.

Manage your event enquiry settings

Below you can find guidance on how to setup your event manager settings.

Set your capacity limits

Follow the steps below to set your event enquiry capacity limits:

  1. Click Settings, then Event Enquiry Settings.

  2. Complete the following fields:

    • Minimum: Set your minimum capacity.

    • Maximum: Set your maximum capacity.

  3. Add your custom message when the capacity limit is reached.

  4. Click Save.

Create your event types

Follow the steps below to create and delete your event types:

  1. Click Settings, then Event Enquiry Settings.

  2. Add your event type on the small text field at the bottom.

  3. Click Add Event Type.

  4. To delete an event type click the Cancel icon.

  5. Click Save.


Enable your areas to accept event enquiries

Follow the steps below to enable your area to receive event types:

  1. Click Settings, then Areas.

  2. Select a segment if applicable.

  3. Click the Edit icon next to your area name.

  4. Enable allow event enquiries.

  5. Click Save.


Create cancellation types for your events

Follow the steps below to create cancellation reasons valid only for your event enquiries:

  1. Click Settings, then Cancellation Types.

  2. Click Create New Reason.

  3. Enter your cancellation description.

  4. Ensure your select only applies to events from the top list.

  5. Select a consequential action form the following:

    • Block customer: This will automatically block the customer.

    • Appear in no show report: Bookings marked by this cancellation reason will appear on your no show report.

    • Display online: You customers cancelling online will see this cancellation reason.

  6. Click Save.
