Manage your online booking restrictions

You can add a range of restrictions to your online bookings.

Online booking restrictions allow you to control how far in advance customers can make reservations before their arrival. With ResDiary, these rules can be applied either before a specific service, such as dinner, or before a visit, giving you flexibility to manage last minute bookings and ensure smoother preparation. For example, you might restrict bookings to close 60 minutes before dinner begins, or limit same day reservations to a set timeframe before arrival.

Enable online booking restrictions per service

You can apply both these rules from your services by following the steps below:

  1. Click Settings, then Services.

  2. Select a segment if applicable.

  3. Click the Edit icon next to your service.

  4. Locate online booking restrictions at the bottom right.

  5. Complete one of the two options:

    • Visit: Block your reservation a number of minutes before their visit.

    • Service: Block your reservations a number of minutes before your service.

  6. Click Save.


Enable online booking restrictions for all your bookings

You can also enable a master setting to your diary for all your services to have the same restriction instead of having to enable this for each of them. Follow the steps below to add an online booking restriction for all your services:

  1. Click Settings, then Online Settings.

  2. Locate don't allow booking x minutes before.

  3. Complete one of the two options:

    • Visit: Block your reservation a number of minutes before their visit.

    • Service: Block your reservations a number of minutes before your service.

  4. Click Save.

πŸ€“ Tip: Set a value of zero if you want to disable this restriction. If you have a restriction set on your services, this will override your master settings.
