Make use of our pre-order add-on to create dietary markers and cooking modifiers to help guests make informed and personalised choices when placing their orders. Markers highlight key nutritional or allergen details, while modifiers allow for meal customisation based on preparation preferences. These features improve clarity, support dietary needs, and enhance the overall ordering experience.
β οΈ Warning: Ensure you have signed up for the pre-order add-on before moving forward. Once it has been added to your subscription it appears on the diary by clicking on Settings, then Pre-orders.
Create your dietary marker
Dietary markers are options that can be added to your menu items to signal to the guest of particular nutritional information to look out for, for example gluten free or contains nuts. Follow the steps below to create your dietary marker:
Click Settings, then Dietary Markers.
Click Create New.
Complete the following fields:
Name: Name of the allergen, like gluten free.
Symbol: You can add the initials if not sure, this will appear on the menu when the customer is placing the order.
Click Save.
Create your cooking modifier
Cooking modifiers ask a question to the customer once they've selected their dish. For example they can ask how they would like their steak to be cooked or what kind of sauce they want. They are divided in categories, so while you create your first modifier you can add all your different options for the same question. Follow the steps below to create your modifier:
Click Settings, then Modifiers.
Click Create.
Complete the following fields:
Category: Add your category name on the first line.
Question: Add the question to your customers on the second line.
Options: Add the different options to reply on the third line.
Price: You can also add a price next to each option if needed.
You can also choose to enable the following:
Multiple choice: Allows you customer to select two or more options.
Required: At least one option must be selected.
Click Create Modifier.
π Note: Once your markers and modifiers are ready you can create your menu items.
