Menu items form the foundation of your pre-order menus. Set them up in advance to speed up menu creation and make seasonal updates easier. Each item can include pricing, descriptions, dietary markers, and cooking modifiers to give guests a clear and customised ordering experience.
⚠️ Warning: Ensure you have signed up for the pre-order add-on before moving forward. Once it has been added to your subscription it appears on the diary by clicking on Settings, then Pre-orders.
Create your menu items
Before you are able to create your items you'll be asked to create your categories where you can list and differentiate your menu items. For example, you can have chicken, pasta, roasts and so on.
🤓 Tip: Items can be used for different categories within menus.
Follow the steps below to create your menu items:
Click Settings, then Menu Items.
Add your categories.
Click Add Menu Item.
Select your category from the dropdown list.
Complete the following fields:
Item name: Name of your dish.
Description: Brief description of the dish.
Price: Add a custom price if needed.
Select your modifier if needed.
Add the correct dietary markers.
Click Save.
Edit or delete your menu items
Follow the steps below to manage your menu items:
Click Settings, then Menu Items.
Click the Edit
icon to amend your item details.Click the Cancel
icon to delete your item.Click the Copy
icon to create a new item with the same details.
📌 Note: Once you've created all your menu items you can build your menu.
