Table Hold for booking widgets

Secure your tables automatically while customers complete checkout 🔒

Written by Ruth Richman

Table Hold locks a table the moment a customer starts entering their details for an online booking through your widget. They see a 5-minute countdown to complete it - if they don't finish in time, the table releases automatically, keeping your availability accurate and your diary moving.

What's changed

  • Automatic holds: Tables are held for 5 minutes as soon as a customer starts checkout on your booking widget.

  • Clear visibility: Held tables appear in orange and labelled "Table Hold" in your diary.

  • Reporting: Run an Expired Table Hold Report to see how many holds are expiring and when.

Why this matters

Table Hold gives every widget booking a reliable hold during checkout, so guests can trust that once they've started, their table is secure - and your diary always reflects real, accurate availability.

What you need to do

Nothing - Table Hold is switched on by default for all venues taking bookings through their widget. If you'd rather not use it, you can turn it off any time from Online Settings.
