Close outs in ResDiary give you full control over when and where reservations can be made. This feature allows you to block availability for specific days, times, services and areas. Whether you're managing a private event, adjusting for staff shortages, or simply pacing your service, Close outs help ensure your booking flow aligns with your operational needs.

Create your new beta recurring close out

Follow the steps below to create your periodic close out:

  1. Click Settings, then Close-out Settings.

  2. Click Create new close-out.

  3. Complete the following fields:

    • Name: Ensure it describe the close out for your staff.

    • Description: This is for internal purposes only.

    • From: Date when your close out begins.

    • Until: Date when your close out ends, tick no end date if you don't have one.

    • Days: Tick the correct days of the week.

  4. Add the intervals of time following the options below:

    • From: Interval of time where your closeout starts.

    • Until: Interval of time where your bookings resume.

  5. Select the area from the dropdown menu.

  6. Click Add interval.

  7. Select a colour for your grid view from the colour panel .

  8. Click Save close-out.


Additional functionalities breakdown

We are always working behind the scenes to make improvements that we think will really help you manage your diary. With this in mind, we are pleased to say we have been working on our close out feature. The hope is that these updates will simplify the process of managing your online availability. This new feature has a Beta tag, because, it's not finished yet and its new. There will be more functionality added to this setting over the coming weeks.

Below is a list of newly added features:

  • Different look: We've updated the appearance of the close out page while keeping all your core functionalities intact.

  • Colour wheel: You can now click the colour wheel next to your close out name on the main page to quickly change the colour associated with that close out.

  • Calendar: We've added a calendar on the right-hand side to give you a visual overview of your upcoming close outs. Hover over each colour to see the close out name. You can adjust the view to show between 1 and 90 days by default, it displays the next 31 days.

  • Edit flow: We've redesigned the edit flow with a new UI that pops up when editing. You can still view your existing close outs while making changes, so everything stays visible and easy to manage.

  • No end date: We've implemented a no end date option so you can set your closeout to run indefinitely.

  • Area multi selection: You can now select multiple areas for the same interval.

  • Multiple intervals: You can now create multiple intervals of time without having to save the close out.

We hope you like these changes and find them useful. More changes are coming soon to this new Beta setting, so keep your eyes peeled and the feedback coming.
