💡 What is the Cross-Sell Widget?
ResDiary’s new Cross-Sell widget allows diners to seamlessly find restaurant availability across your portfolio if their initial booking request hasn’t been successful.
With the Cross-Sell widget, there’s no need for diners to go back off the booking page, and no need for them to go onto a different website - they can easily check restaurant availability across your other venues in one place.
🧩 How Does It Work?
You can configure the widget to display Venues within your group.
These options are fully configurable in ResDiary, giving you control over:
Which venues are shown
How the layout appears
Whether the cross-sell shows on all venues or only select ones
The Cross-Sell widget can check restaurant availability by capturing the guest data provided at the initial booking inquiry:
Preferred booking date
Group size
Time slot chosen
If the diner’s chosen venue doesn’t have any availability, then alternate venues that do meet the supplied preferences will be displayed. The diner can then book directly through here instead of having to go to a separate website and booking form, simplifying their journey and improving guest experience.

🛠 How to Enable the Cross-Sell Widget
This feature is available for venues that have 2 or more diaries, that are connected via our group central reservations add on. To get started go to your diary, then Promote > Online facilities > Widget Configurator > Create New theme > Cross-Sell
