The cross sell widget helps maximise booking opportunities by capturing a guest’s preferred date, time, and party size, and automatically redirecting them to another one of your venues if the original venue has no availability. This feature is available to venues with two or more diaries connected through the group central reservations add-on. With this add-on, all linked diaries can be accessed from a single login by selecting your diary name, where a full list of your other diaries will be displayed.

You can see an overview of the guest journey on the video below:

πŸ“Œ Note: Just be mindful to give every widget an obvious name, and a different channel code per widget so you can track the bookings made via each individual widget you create. Venues will display and be offered to your guests in the same order with which you add them from cross sell other venue. Please also note that the maximum amount of venues that can be chosen to be cross sold is 30.

The primary availability shown on your cross sell widget will always come from the venue where the diary is created. If no availability is found there, the widget will then search the other venues you have added in the widget settings. To set up your own cross sell widget, please follow the steps below:

  1. Click Promote, then Widget Configurator.

  2. Click Create New Theme, then Cross Sell.

  3. Insert your widget name under theme name.

  4. Customise your colour branding from the following tabs:

    • Overall look.

    • Promotion choice window.

    • Calendar.

    • Dropdown and input boxes.

  5. Click Cross Sell Other Venues.

  6. Select the diary name from the dropdown menu and click Add.

  7. Click Continue.

  8. Choose from one of the following code options from the bottom right:

    • Embedded: This is your widget built into a jQuery embed code, which you can copy and paste on to your website.

    • Iframe: This is your widget built into an iframe code, which you can copy and paste on to your website.

    • Direct link: This is simply a direct link to your widget.

  9. Copy the widget code and embed it on your website.

πŸ€“ Tip: You can create as many cross sell widgets as you like to manage which venues are getting cross sold. For example, you may want to group your venues together by location and have one cross sell widget for your venues in Glasgow, another cross sell widget for London etc.
