When Stripe is connected to your diary, you can require a deposit or payment to secure bookings. This can be applied to parties above a certain size, specific days, or particular promotions, making it ideal for large parties and special events. By doing so, you protect your business from late cancellations and no-shows, keep card details stored securely in a PCI-compliant manner, clearly communicate your policies, receive alerts to cancellations, and ensure your key dates are properly secured.

Create a payment requirement to your bookings
You can make use of our payment settings to setup payment requirements for your bookings by following the steps below:
Click Settings, then Deposits.
Click Add.
Complete the following fields:
Status: Ensure this is set to enabled.
Description: Create a brief description of what's this payment for.
Attach to promotion: Ensure this is set to None.
Date: Select a date range for when this payment is active.
Choose if you want to enable the payment for internal bookings.
Payment type: choose if you want to charge your amount per cover or per booking.
Click Update.
Assign a value to your deposit requirements
You have two ways of assigning a value to your deposits:
⚠️Important: You can only have one value active at the time. If you have both created within the same deposit then only the service limit will be active.
Set a value by cover size and day of the week
Follow the steps below to assign a value by cover size and day to your payments:
Click Settings, then Deposits.
Find your deposit and click Edit.
Click Add under number of people.
By making use of the dropdown menus you can decide the group sizes affected by this payment requirement.
Add the exact amount you want to request for each day of the week.
Click Save, then Update.
For example, on the image below you can see that the payment is set to charge customers from Sunday to Thursday five pounds for groups of five or more, but it will charge them ten pounds for Friday and Saturday:
Set a value by service
Follow the steps below to assign a value by service to your payments:
Click Settings, then Deposits.
Find your deposit and click Edit.
Find the service section at the bottom of the page.
Select the correct service name from the dropdown menu.
Select the amount you want to charge.
Click Add, then Update.
For example, on the image below you can see that the payment is set to charge ten pounds on the dinner service:
