If your ResDiary is running slower than expected, there are steps you can take to improve its performance. Follow the guide below to optimise your diary speed and ensure smoother day to day use.

Check your internet speed

ResDiary depends on a stable internet connection, with both download and upload speeds playing a key role. Upload speed affects how quickly your data reaches ResDiary. Use a speed test to check your connection ideally aiming for over 11 Mbps for best performance.

Check your network type

Using a shared Wi-Fi network such as customer Wi-Fi can slow down your computer’s connection to ResDiary. The more people connected, the more strain on the network, which can affect performance. We recommend you always use a separate connection for the system, than the one you provide to your customers.

Check your background programs

Background programs like Dropbox, Spotify, or system updates can slow down your connection by using up bandwidth. Check your task manager on Windows or activity monitor on Mac and close any unnecessary applications to help improve performance.

Check your browser

For the best experience with ResDiary, we recommend using Google Chrome. It’s reliable, developer supported and performs well especially when kept clean. Unnecessary extensions, plugins, or malware can slow things down, so it’s important to regularly review and disable anything you don’t need. Windows users can also use Google’s free Chrome Cleanup Tool to scan for and remove problematic software.

Clear your browsing history

Over a period of time there will be lots of unnecessary history files accumulated slowing down the browser’s performance, ensure you clear your history often.
