Before going live, it's important to ensure your diary is set up to reflect how your venue operates day to day. This stage is all about fine tuning your configuration teaching your diary how you want bookings to be managed, tables to be allocated, and services to run.

Import your data

As a new customer to ResDiary, you may have built a database with a different system and have future bookings which you would like to transfer over. We can allow you to bring all your customer profiles and important booking information with our data import tool.

Configure your table management

Your table setup directly impacts how bookings are allocated and how efficiently your venue operates. Use the guidance below to review your table management settings:

  • Areas: Check if all your areas are online.

  • Tables: Ensure you've created all your tables.

  • Table joins: Review your large table combinations.

  • Table rankings: Set what table you want to sell first.

  • Rules: Limit your peak time reservations and prevent small groups on your large tables.

  • Services: Adjust your working times, duration times and yield management.

  • Table Plan: Create a table plan to match your layout.

Manage your users

Ensure your team gets started by reading our training guide before you create an user for them. We highly recommend you create a dedicated user for each person that uses the system. This helps you track down who makes the changes and set their permissions.

Add your terms and policy

One of the most crucial settings you need to review are your terms and conditions and your data retention policy. Under the GDPR, restaurants must establish a retention period for customer data. This involves deciding how long to keep the data and securely deleting or anonymizing it once the retention period ends.

Set offers and payments

Boost customer engagement and protect your revenue by setting up promotions and secure payment options. Use the guides below to highlight special events and implement policies that help reduce no shows and late cancellations:

  • Promotion: Inform your customers of special events and menus.

  • Payments: Take payments and store card details to reduce your cancellations.
