Manage your incomplete bookings

You can report and act on your incomplete bookings.

Monitor and manage incomplete bookings to maintain control over reservations that were started but not finalised. These bookings are created when a reservation reaches the final step but fails due to cancellation, missing payment, or an abandoned online process. ResDiary automatically records these entries to help you identify and resolve gaps in your diary.

Incomplete bookings occur in three scenarios:

  • A user cancels or exits an internal booking before completion.

  • A customer fails to submit card details or payment after receiving a secure landing page email.

  • A customer begins a booking via Dish Cult but abandons the process before confirming.

These bookings are stored in the system but not rendered in the diary. They remain inactive until payment or card details are submitted. No confirmation emails or SMS messages are sent for incomplete bookings.

Create your incomplete booking report

Follow the steps below to create your incomplete booking report:

  1. Click Reports, then Incomplete Bookings.

  2. Select one of the two options:

    • Click Add Report, then complete the form with your preferences and click Run Report.

    • Click All Upcoming to see all the future incomplete bookings.

  3. You have two options:

    1. Click Mark as Read next to the correct booking to archive it.

    2. Click the reservation to reseat the customer using the booking form.
