Sell your gift vouchers

You can create and sell vouchers for your customers on ResDiary.

ResDiary offers you to create, promote, sell, and manage vouchers for your venue. Add images, menus, and links, and sell vouchers directly from your website, Dish Cult, or social media. Set up physical or digital delivery, connect Stripe for payments, and track all voucher activity in one place.

⚠️ Warning: Ensure you have signed up for the voucher add-on before moving forward. Once it has been added to your subscription it appears on the diary by clicking on Promote, then Vouchers.

Create your voucher

Follow the steps below to create your voucher:

  1. Click Promote, then Vouchers.

  2. Click Create Voucher.

  3. Select your price from the default options or add a custom.

  4. Complete the following fields:

    • Voucher title: This is visible to your customers.

    • Description: This is visible to your customers.

    • Terms: You can add specific terms for this voucher that are visible to your customers.

  5. Select the expiration date in months.

  6. Select if you want to add a limit of purchase per transaction.

  7. Click Save and Continue.

πŸ“Œ Note: Click the Edit icon next to your voucher to amend it and see a preview for your online shop.


Sell your vouchers online

Below is a list of actions you'll need to complete in order to sell your vouchers online.


Setup your Stripe for vouchers

Follow the steps below to get your Stripe setup ready for vouchers:

  1. Ensure you have connected Stripe to your diary.

  2. Click Settings, then Stripe Settings.

  3. Ensure you enable the following:

    • Use live stripe settings.

    • Use stripe for voucher payments.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Click Settings, then Payment Methods.

  6. Click the red toggle to enable the following payment methods:

    • Stripe

    • ResDiary voucher.

Add your postage method

ResDiary will automatically send an email confirmation containing all the details of their voucher to the customers once it has been purchased.

⚠️ Warning: If you want your vouchers to be delivered physically then you'll need to arrange this on your own and add a postage method with its details.

Follow the steps below to add your custom postage method:

  1. Click Promote, then Vouchers.

  2. Click Postage methods.

  3. Click Create postage method.

  4. Add your postage method name.

  5. Add a price and if it requires a delivery.

  6. Set to active.

  7. Click Save.

⚠️ Important: You need a minimum of one active postage method in order to sell vouchers online. If you want to send vouchers by email then make sure you name it email delivery at £0 to make it apparent to the customer.

Add your vouchers terms

Follow the steps below to add your generic voucher terms and conditions:

  1. Click Settings, then Terms and Conditions.

  2. Click the Edit icon next to vouchers.

  3. Add your terms on the text field.

  4. Click Save.

πŸ“Œ Note: You can test your voucher confirmation email content by generating a test for your email address. Contact us on [email protected] if you want to add or edit the wording of your voucher confirmation email.

Sell your vouchers online

Follow the steps below to sell your vouchers online:

  1. Click Promote, then Vouchers.

  2. Click Promote.

  3. Toggle on your sell voucher online option.

  4. Copy your link and add this to your socials, website and newsletters.

πŸ€“ Tip: We recommend you test your online voucher purchase flow to see what your customers point of view looks like, you don't need to complete the payment.

Daily vouchers notifications

Follow the steps below to get a daily email on all vouchers sold in the previous day:

  1. Click Promote, then Vouchers.

  2. Click Email notification setup.

  3. Add up to 20 email addresses of your choice.
